The figures
Rents and vacancy describe CMHC’s survey area for each community, which can be a city, a zone or a wider region; two communities can share one. The census columns describe the municipality. Each community links to its page, where the sources are linked.

* Vacancy for a wider area than the rents: Oakville, Halton Region, because CMHC rates its Oakville estimate as poor; Welland, the St. Catharines-Niagara census metropolitan area, because CMHC does not publish a rate for Welland alone. Census figures for Chatham are for the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and Listowel are for the Municipality of North Perth. Scarborough, North York and Etobicoke are parts of the City of Toronto, not census subdivisions. “Not shown” means CMHC suppressed the estimate or rated it poor.
