In a sample of 200 priced rental listings advertised on Tenant.ca in Toronto, ON, collected October 12, 2026, the median asking rent was $2,500 a month; the middle half ranged from $2,000 to $2,900. Bedroom medians were $2,250 for one bedroom, $2,775 for two bedrooms, $3,495 for three or more bedrooms.
Location drives most of that spread. Renters who want subway access along the TTC's Line 1 or Line 2 look at the Annex, Yonge and Eglinton, or North York, while Liberty Village and Leslieville rely on streetcars but sit closer to the downtown core. Union Station connects the core to the rest of the GTA by GO train, which matters if you commute outside the city. The biggest employment clusters are the Financial District, the hospitals along University Avenue, and the University of Toronto's downtown campus.
Based on up to 200 recent listings, with duplicate listing IDs removed. Asking rents are not signed lease prices or a census of the city. Bedroom medians require at least eight listings. Samples older than seven days are withheld.
